Leonardo Logistics has been awarded ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Recognition by DNV, a leading international independent certification service, which has recognised the company’s commitment to ensuring that its management systems are fully compliant with international standards across the three aspects of sustainability: environmental, social and governance, in line with the Leonardo Group’s sustainability strategy and plan.
Leonardo Logistics has been recognised for the certifications it has obtained and maintained over time: ISO 14001 (Environment), ISO 45001 (Health and Safety), ISO 9001 and EN 9100/9120 (Quality).

DNV recognition confirms the approach the company has developed over recent years, based on integrating ESG principles into its operational processes, systematically improving efficiency and strengthening compliance controls. An approach that positions Leonardo Logistics as a logistics operator that is mindful of its impact and committed to sustainable industrial growth.
Our commitment across the three ESG pillars can be summarised as follows:
-
Environment: optimisation of transport through a control tower for the integrated coordination of logistics flows; adoption of circular management practices for raw materials and logistics support materials; integration of ESG criteria into tender processes through the allocation of dedicated technical scores; and adoption of the EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) system in warehouses to reduce CO₂ emissions by cutting energy consumption and paper usage.
-
Social: adoption of rigorous occupational safety protocols in highly complex environments; implementation of specialist training programmes for personnel; strengthening of inclusion and gender equality policies.
-
Governance: implementation of a leadership model based on integrity, the protection of sensitive data and a traceable and verified supply chain; introduction of an annual ESG report shared with all stakeholders in the sector.
“We welcome DNV’s recognition. The integration of ISO/EN standards into our operational processes is a choice that results in more robust operations, better informed decisions and a shared sense of responsibility at all levels of the organisation. In a global market that demands ever greater accountability, Leonardo Logistics has demonstrated its ability to combine complex logistics operations with responsible and transparent management, delivering added value for our institutional and market partners,” said Tommaso Profeta, Managing Director of Leonardo Logistics.
“Leonardo Logistics’ achievement of ESG Recognition is clear evidence of the commitment by Leonardo’s logistics company to embedding sustainability at the heart of its operations. In a highly specialised sector such as aerospace and defence logistics, adopting a structured approach that has been checked by an independent third party is essential. This accreditation confirms that the company’s operations are underpinned by a robust framework of certified management systems, covering key areas such as environmental management (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001) and, in particular, quality, with the specific standard for the aerospace sector, AS/EN 9100. ESG Recognition provides customers and stakeholders with evidence of credible and traceable management of sustainability-related risks and opportunities, reinforcing Leonardo Logistics’ position as a reliable and responsible partner,” commented Massimo Alvaro, Managing Director of Business Assurance Italy at DNV.
